The Saturday Story

I woke up during the night, off and on. But I did manage to fall back asleep. Then I woke up for real around 7:30 a.m. on Saturday.

My ToDo list was pretty full for this weekend, but I didn't care and putzed. I drank too much coffee and watched the news.

I finally shaved, showered and got dressed.

I went to the Post Office for more stamps and to mail a package. While I was waiting in line, I chatted with the young lady behind me who was an Arab. She didn't wear the hijab but was about five feet tall and cute as hell.

I put her into my "Missed opportunity because you're too damn old" category, LOL!

Back home, I left the truck outside so I could work in the garage. So, I changed clothes and got to work.

The first item was to redirect the extension cord that feeds the garage door opener. Why? Because it used to end up right next to the fuse box. Now, I don't think its illegal, but I don't want it that obvious when the Township inspector comes out to check out the fuse box (I assume this will need a permit).

So, I put some hooks in the ceiling and rerouted it to the other side. I secured it with wire ties. There was a lot of ladder work (up and down) and my legs hurt.

Then I went to wire in the switch in the garage. I was stripping off the outer covering when I slashed the sh*t out of my left index finger with a razor knife.

Three bandages later, it finally stopped bleeding. I decided to take a break.

My break turned into a nap.

I woke up and decided to postpone working on the switch until my finger heals. So, I pulled the truck inside and buttoned everything up for the night.

I didn't feel like making dinner, so just ate more coleslaw.

My nap let me stay up and watch Saturday Night Live. Then I went to sleep

  1. Good idea with the rerouting of the extension cord. I recall the home inspector a time or two ago who was not real pleased with the placement of the garage door safety sensors.

I did not watch SNL but did catch the cold open this morning on YouTube.
