Tuesday

I woke up earlier than usual on Tuesday morning. I really have to reset my inner clock!

But, then again, it worked out well. I was able to get the trash out to the road and also stop at Home Depot for that star bit I need. Again, it was cool in the morning (but we are supposed to have a heat wave over the weekend).

I had to go to the Post office at lunch, so I left at 11:30 a.m. (to beat the lunch crowd, I thought). I drove to the closest one (on Merriman, just off of Plymouth Road). What a difference from the one in Redford! In Redford, you have two or three clerks, but rarely more than five or six people in front of you. In Livonia, they have five clerks, but 16 people in front of you and more lining up behind you all the time!

I did get out in time to stop and eat a quick lunch at Eastside Mario's. I had the same lunch special I always get: A big bowl of Italian wedding soup and a large Caesar salad, with a loaf of garlic bread. I ate all the soup (and they always ask you if you want more) and about half the salad and garlic bread. Excellent!

It was noticeably hotter in the afternoon, but still not that muggy.

When I got home, I checked the container gardens and decided it was more important to water than hang drywall. So, that's what I did.

I watered everything out back with the hose and then attached it to the soaker hose in the vegetable garden. There were a few new sugar snap peas, so I had a quick snack.

Then I started hauling out water in the watering can up front. I am no longer trying to get things to bloom. I'm just trying to keep them alive!

I finished up about 7:00 p.m. I put away the watering can and rolled up the hose. Then I went inside.

I set up a breading station of flour, beaten eggs and corn meal. I patted three catfish fillets dry with paper towels and then breaded them.

Tip: You can get HUGE catfish fillets, but the smaller ones taste better. I'm just sayin'

I fried them up in canola oil while Uncle Ben and the microwave made me some rice with butter and garlic. I topped the fish with hot sauce and ate a fantastic dinner.

I watched an NCIS rerun and went to bed at 10:00 p.m.
