Monday, Monday...

It was back to work on Monday. It was already hot and suppose to get hotter still. But, when I walked outside at 10:00 a.m., there was a nice breeze.

I went to Ten Yen for lunch. I got the almond chicken and took home what I couldn't eat. I had a plan...

I drove through the park back to work.

When I walked outside at 3:00 p.m., even the breeze was hot!

Back at home, there was no sign the lawn service had been there yet. So, I used the hose to water the herbs, but didn't stretch it out across the grass to water the veggies. I didn't want them to cut it with their mower.

Then I started to hand-water the front.

Sidebar: I am doing what I can, but almost everything looks stunted or wilted. The only exception is the mailbox garden.

I finished watering a little after 7:00 p.m. It was 94 degrees...

Back inside, I made a small salad. Then I took the leftover chicken and scraped off the breading. As I said before, this doesn't reheat well. I sliced up the chicken and topped my salad with it. It was delicious.

I watched some taped TV until the Detroit fireworks came on at 9:00 p.m. on Channel 4. It was a fantastic display! I suppose I missed the camaraderie of being in the crowd, but I was happy to be sitting in the air conditioning with just the cat.

Then I went to bed.

  1. On the plus side, the mailbox garden is the first one people see.
