Good Friday

I woke up late on Friday. It was chilly. I did check out back and found that my neighbor's dry well must be working, because the lake was disappearing fast. Sorry ducks!

I watched the morning news then I finally made breakfast (well, by the time I got around to it, I guess it would be brunch, LOL). I "baked" a potato in the microwave and then, when it cooled, I sliced it up. Next, I fried it in butter in my 10-inch skillet.

Meanwhile, I scrambled three eggs, adding in some frozen chives from my garden and salt and pepper.

I toasted the last two slices of rye bread (they were too big for the toaster) and had an excellent brunch!

I finally got cleaned up and went to the Post Office to mail a package. Then I went home.

I putzed around a lot, making lists, doing online banking, etc. I did finally finish and e-filed my taxes.

I took a long nap in the afternoon.

When I woke up, I was hungry. So, I made a simple salad and dressed it with bottled Italian dressing. I also made a can of Campbell's bean with bacon soup. Not a fancy dinner, but filling and satisfying.

I watched some DIY shows until bedtime. They inspired me, but not enough that I actually did anything!

  1. I’m only bringing this up, because you said you’re eating more salads to address your weight: You may as well be drenching your salads in liquid candy bars when you use bottled dressing. You’re better off making your own.

  2. I know that. I have a great recipe, but I just didn't have any fresh lemons... :(

  3. Bunch looks great. The Bolthouse Farms dressings in the produce section are good.
