I woke up at 6:15 on Sunday and it was 31 degrees! Maybe it will melt some of this snow.
Speaking of snow, a guy at work was talking about going to the Silverdome in Pontiac to watch snowmobile races. I asked if they race on straw (I’ve heard of that year’s ago). He said no, they truck in actual snow. I told him to find out the name of the trucking company as I have a bunch I’d sell ‘em cheap.
Also, I forgot to tell you. But, on the way home Friday, I got stuck behind a rolling patching crew, filling up potholes on Inkster. Potholes are everywhere these days and I also think they are a sure sign of spring. Maybe I’m getting a little too optimistic. Maybe it’s just wishful thinking. Maybe I’m just sick of this winter!
I stripped the bed and had the bedding in the washer by 7:00 AM. I treated the bloodstains from the Caley attack with Zout. I think Zout is the best laundry stain remover I’ve ever tried. But, I am almost out of Zout (that was fun to think, to say and even to write). So, I put it on the grocery list.
You might have noticed that, in the past, I wrote out my ToDo list on Friday night and then started in on it Saturday morning. Then I’d work on Sunday to get more of it done. But, recently, I noticed taking Saturday off (completely) really improves my mental health. So, that’s what I do now.
I went out and hosed off the car at the quarter car wash down the street. On reflection, that was stupid as there will be standing water everywhere for the rest of the week. But, I am sick of the salt and crud on my car. When I drove back home, I turned into the drive (like I used to, before the last snow) and then went out and shoveled the areas where the car had bottomed out. Also stupid as the damn stuff will probably melt. Then I wiped the car windows and mirrors dry.
It’s dripping from every eve on the roof, even as I write this.
I posted an email I got from my brother Carl about Michigan. I saved the photos that accompanied it but couldn’t post them. So, I contacted the website administrator. He asked what the file extension was and I couldn’t tell him. So, he converted them to jpegs and I posted them.
I watched the Redwings battle the Bruins in the afternoon. We won!
I warmed up the Shrimp Scampi for dinner and then topped it with some Parmigiano-Reggiano. I ate that watching “Master and Commander,” waiting for my Sunday night shows to come on. They eventually did, so I watched them and went to bed at 11:00 PM.
