It was sunny, but chilly and very windy on Friday. But, when I got home at lunchtime, I dragged out the stepladder, went in the backyard and cleaned out those gutters.
They were a mess (I knew they would be; they are directly under three huge maples) and the composted leaves plopped onto the patio, splattering the outside walls. I got them all out, but then ran out of time.
So, when I got home after work, even though it was much colder and windier and getting dark, I went back outside. I used the hose to wash off the walls, and then climbed the ladder to hose out the gutter. By the time I got close to the downspout, it was too dark to see what I was doing. But the water was coming out freely, so I am calling it a success.
Back inside, I looked at the dinner I had planned to make and said, “Screw it!” Yeah, I literally said, "Screw it!" My legs hurt too bad to spend time at the stove. So, I just made a pan of popcorn, topped it with melted butter and salt and spent the rest of the evening lying down, watching TV.
