I woke up just after 7:00 AM on Sunday. I turned on the radio (Sunday Morning Over Easy) and made a fresh pot of coffee. Then I posted the Blog entry (it's hard to write when you didn't really "do" anything...)
At 9:00 AM, I had an incredible urge to smoke a cigarette. So, I dug out my year-old pack of stale Pall Malls and lit one up with a cup of coffee, sitting on the couch. Now, normally I would have smoked out on the porch (I do this two or three times a year). But, the temperature was right at freezing and frost covered everything. So, I stunk up the house, instead...
I stripped the bedding and started the Sunday wash. I got a few more items checked off the ToDo list, but my heart wasn't really in it. It was dreary and rained off and on most of the day. I did manage to get the holiday decorations down from the attic. I hung up the sled and Father Christmas out on the front porch.
I read a lot on the couch after making and eating a turkey sandwich for lunch. I had just enough turkey left to heat up (with the rest of the other leftovers) for Sunday dinner. At 7:00 PM, I started warming up the food. So, I had Thanksgiving Dinner all over again and, you know, I was pretty thankful. It still tasted great!
I watched my usual Sunday night shows and then turned on a Lewis Black special I'd taped about surviving the holidays, from Thanksgiving to New Year's. It had a ton of other comedians, as well, and was pretty funny. I watched that until 11:30 PM and then went to sleep.
It had been a nice four-day weekend!
