Spreading my seed...

Tuesday was finally bright and sunny, but cool. It's getting downright cold at night, BTW. Fall is definitely upon us.

When I got home, I changed clothes (Note to self: This shorts and t-shirt ensemble is not gonna cut it too much longer for outdoor work) and went outside.

I raked the dirt I put in the front yard's low spot, applied some grass seed and raked it in. The low spot is directly over where the old pine was and I believe is caused by all the wood chips I left in the hole (where they chewed up the stump) slowly rotting. When I finished with that, I dragged the hose out front and Obama-ed it (watered it liberally). I took the last pictures of the front garden for this year to show how some of the moss roses did finally come up and some never did.

Then I went in back and raked the spot by the bird feeder where I apparently dripped herbicide earlier this summer. This was a lot harder, but still doable, only because of the rain. Then I seeded, raked again and watered it, too. Now I just have to water both daily for the next couple weeks and I should be okay.

There are more spots to do in the back yard, but my arms are tired so I put everything away for tonight. I was going to caulk the tiles tonight (the edge between the counter and the wall was not supposed to be grouted, but rather caulked to allow for expansion). But, it was already 6:50 PM, so I decided to wait on that.

I warmed up the last catfish filet and the rest of the wild rice and ate that for dinner (Note to self: From now on, make four filets, not just three). I watched TV until 9:30 PM, then switched to a book, then bed.
