Sometime this week or next, we will be moving to a web-hosting site, to get increased bandwidth and processing power. It will be Piece Offerings, but on steroids!
My Administrator assures me that given a little time, he can get the look and feel of it to something close to the current one (which was a custom programmed website). But, in the interim, all the functionality will be there, it just won't look the same anymore.
And, you know how it is with us old people; we don't like change, dammit!
Our development team is working hard to ensure that any front-end changes that need to be made will be minimal. The damage will not be as bad as originally anticipated.
ReplyDeleteHowever, users with bookmarks (or Favorites in IE speak) that link directly to a page other than the main site will need to update their bookmarks after the migration.
Hurray! My hat's off to Jake for keeping this site going as long as he has.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to the future, though, with hope that the new website will render nicely on my Blackberry and on Jill's IE 5.5 browser.
Unfortunately then you'll have to keep looking. Distressed by the "new look" the Captain has kept the Administrator working hard in order to achieve exactly the same look and feel.
ReplyDeleteSadly, your IE 5.5 and BlackBerry will receive no reprieve. There's always upgrading... As a Microsoft Junkie you should be used to the forced upgrade process anyway.
