As I said in the last post, it never rained here on Wednesday, although I heard that Port Huron got some good storms. That's good for Jeremy and Jyl, as they just planted a birch tree.
But, so you don't think I am needlessly obsessing over rain, they did say on the News this morning that we in Southeast Michigan are over two inches below normal rainfall so far this year. And, believe me, you can tell!
The lack of rain is definitely something I have noticed while checking out houses. So a note to all the sellers out there - water your lawns!
ReplyDeleteAs you could probably tell from the photograph I sent you, our lawn is completely dead. It reminds me of the desert scrub brush. I am thinking of tearing out of the grass and replacing it with native plants and a scattering of cactus.
ReplyDeleteIt is said that Michigan is in a drought, and that we have been in one for over five years now. If you ask me, once it goes for more than a year or two, it is no longer a drought. We’re talking climate change, baby. Pour me a class of cactus juice and I’ll tell you tales of when this state was green.
Or when we used to have snow in the winter. Or hell, even when we used to have winter.
ReplyDeleteAyup. Snow ... I remember the snow.
