Wednesday night I was supposed to be painting the brown trim on the porch and around the garage door. Instead, I got all enthused about roasting a chicken and some root vegetables. So, with stopping at two grocery stores (Farmer Jack doesn't carry parsnips) prep time, cook time, etc., it was after 8:00 PM when dinner was done. Too late for good paint work.
Report on dinner? The chicken was moist and well flavored, the roasted root vegetables (carrots, sweet potatoes and parsnips) were tasty, but a bit overdone, but the gravy? Oh, my! The gravy was the best chicken gravy I ever made (or even tasted)!
Watched TV and went to bed.
